What is the National Drug Endangered Children Training and Advocacy Center?
The NDEC-TAC is a non-profit organization with the mission of rescuing child victims of drug-related crime through teaching law enforcement officers, social service workers, medical and mental health care provider’s special methods of investigation and assessment that can improve the ability of the system to protect children who are discovered living in and endangered by dangerous drug environments.

Our Mission Statement:
We seek to rescue child victims of drug related crime, to prepare the workforce of professionals positioned to be the hands and feet of this mission, and to develop recovery tools for offending parents, while ensuring the victims of these crimes remain the center of our work.

Why is NDEC-TAC’s Mission Important?
Each year in the United States over 3.3 million child abuse referrals are made. A majority of substantiated child abuse cases involving adult drug activity by the offending adult. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of drug arrests are made each year that involve children who are not interviewed and are left in a potentially dangerous environment. Children of addicts are an estimated four to seven times more likely to become addicts themselves if they remain in a drug-using environment. Almost seventy-five percent of women and men in drug treatment programs were abused as children. Intervening in the lives of drug involved families can break the cycle of drug abuse in that family.

How does NDEC-TAC help families?
NDEC-TAC develops programming that is comprehensive, recovering-person approved and tested, that helps parents work though their own issues of abuse and meet the emotional needs of their own children. Investigation methods have been utilized and have evolved over the last twenty years and are proven to facilitate the successful rescue of children. During the course of this work it has become increasingly clear that today’s addict was yesterday’s drug endangered child.


How is NDEC-TAC funded?
Currently, NDEC-TAC is supported by fee-for-service and private business donations. We do not currently receive federal or state funds. We do not charge any family seeking advocacy services nor do we charge for expert consultation in the case of a child fatality.

Are donations or premium memberships to NDEC-TAC tax-deductible?
The National Drug Endangered Children Training and Advocacy Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Donations are tax deductable to the full extent of the law.

What does my donation or premium membership provide?
Your contribution will enable the development of resources that professionals in the field may use as reminders of best practices, online training programs which are the most cost-efficient training method for basic practices. Funds may be used to send one trainer to a location where greater than one hundred may receive training for the cost of travel for one. Our goal is to provide the greatest quality product that will impact the greatest number of children in the most efficient way. Funds will also be used to maintain all aspects of this website to include content development, server hosting & website maintenance.
